Sources and method
Per state: the scheduled poll hours in The Green Papers 2026 Polling Hours (local time per time zone), converted to Eastern Time, cross-checked with 270toWin's 2026 poll closing times (which credits The Green Papers and Daily Kos) and with PollCheck for the 45 states it lists. All three read 2026-11-02. Where the lists disagree, the state shows check your county instead of a time (2):
- Michigan: Green Papers 8 pm, 9 pm ET vs PollCheck 8 pm ET. Two time zones: Eastern part closes 8 pm ET; Central part closes 9 pm ET.
- North Dakota: Green Papers 10 pm, 11 pm ET vs 270toWin 8 pm, 9 pm ET. Two time zones: Central part closes 10 pm ET; Mountain part closes 11 pm ET. Some polling places close earlier by local option.
